The Staff Care Leader provides support and guidance to cabin leaders, youth participants in our leadership programs, and support services for the camp program (maintenance, kitchen and janitorial staff) in dealing with relationship building, camper relations, safety, and campers participation and enjoyment of camp program. They are also required to participate in the mentoring of youth volunteers through leading and participating in Bible study. They are responsible for providing mental health support to all staff, paid and volunteer, and do so through scheduled and unscheduled check-ins. They may also provide help in the form of covering unforeseen vacancies in positions – i.e. if a cabin leader gets sick or needs a chance to rest after a rough night, the Staff Care Leader will cover duties and provide optimal care for children throughout the summer.
