The Kitchen Assistant is a vital part of the Camp Evergreen team, working closely with the Kitchen Manager to provide excellent food service to our staff and guests. This individual will help prepare healthy, delicious meals while upholding standards of cleanliness, safety and hospitality.
This position assists the Kitchen Manager in all aspects of the general operations of the kitchen, such as food preparation and general kitchen duties. Applicant must be able to assume leadership in absence of the Kitchen Manager.
Duties may include but not limited to:
Help prepare meals that are cost-effective, high quality, and suited for a wide range of diets
Follow and model safe food handling protocols
Ensure food is well presented and served on schedule
Maintain a clean, professional and welcoming work environment
Participate in regular cleaning of kitchen equipment, pantries, storage areas, coolers and freezers
Launder and fold kitchen bar mops and aprons
Help manage food and supply inventory
Applicants must have a desire to learn, works well with others, possess a strong work ethic, is organized and has previous food preparation experience.

Pay: $18.00/hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week – fluctuates seasonally
