About the Position

Overview

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Facilities will lead the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team as well as MBC’s on-going Site Development Plan. As a member of the MBC Leadership Team, the Director of Facilities will champion the vision, mission and values of MBC to the entire team and outside constituents and will live out the MBC core values/principles in the workplace and beyond, setting an example for other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility operates as a ‘well-oiled machine’, meeting the needs of MBC guests, improving the facility and completing projects on time and on budget.
  • Create a long-term facility plan
  • Act as the project lead for Capital Projects, coordinating with in-house labour and 3rd party contractors for each project.
  • Maintain Regulatory Compliance by ensuring MBC is compliant with all regulations: ESA (Electrical), MOL (Health & Safety), MECP (Water & Sewer)
  • Supervise and direct the daily work of the Maintenance Team
  • Recruit and retain a capable and motivated team of staff and contractors, working with day-to-day direction and encouragement and keeping up to date training
  • Mentor and encourage summer staff (Immerse Program) in their Christian walk

Qualifications

  • College or University level training in engineering / building, or equivalent experience
  • Willing to pursue water and sewer systems training and certificate
  • 5-10 years’ experience in facility management
  • Demonstrated success leading a team
  • A heart for youth & young adults to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ

  • Working in a Christian ministry requires a high standard of personal integrity and lifestyle. Each team member working at MBC will be expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct and agree with the Statement of Faith as documented in the Staff Handbook.  All staff members are expected to share in the vision and ministry of MBC regardless of their role or position.
  • Weekend, evening and on-call work will be required.
