The ideal candidate for the Program Director is a deeply committed individual with a mature and growing Christian faith, actively living out the values, mission, vision, and Confession of Faith of Hastings Lake Bible Camp. They must maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, living a life of moral integrity in all aspects of their life.
This person is expected to possess:
Leadership and Experience
- A passion for camp ministry, a love for people and the outdoors, and a desire to bring children, youth, and families into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrated leadership experience (preferably 3-5+ years) in a non-profit, camp, or similar operational environment, including experience in personnel management.
- Experience in ministry, with children, youth, and families is an asset.
Skills and Character
- A creative problem solver with a keen eye for developing people and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. They are expected to communicate appropriately and on time, and lead with grace and humility.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic leadership team, always showing honor and respect to coworkers and supporting the staff team.
- A willingness to be open to continued training and development opportunities.
- Proficiency with standard office software and a willingness to learn camp-specific systems.
Core Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older and a high school graduate; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Must hold (or be willing to acquire) a current Standard First Aid Certification.
- Must submit a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, and a Child Intervention Record Check.
- Must agree with, support, and pursue the camp’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
