About the Position
Position
·      Facilities Manager

·      Huntsville, Ontario, Canada
To provide oversight to the maintenance, custodial and housekeeping departments for MBC; ensuring that the facility is safe, proactively maintained, and aesthetically pleasing. Working as a key member of the management team to meet overall guest and team expectations and support the ministry vision and objectives of MBC.
Responsibilities
·      Oversight of Maintenance
  • Ensure a well-oiled facility, meeting the needs of the guests/team
  • Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities for the MBC/Widji facilities including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage the maintenance team to create a safe atmosphere for our guests and team members.
  • Proactively coach/mentor all Maintenance Leads (maintenance/grounds, water/sewage/mechanic, electrical/projects, projects)
  • Regular facility maintenance, and repairs & support for other departments as needed
  • Ensure safety of employees and customers through compliance with safety provisions and regulations
  • Manage the maintenance employees including encouragement and overseeing staff performance on a daily basis
·      Oversight of Custodial & Housekeeping Functions
  • Lead and mentor Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor & Custodian Lead in their job expectations
  • Develop and implement a plan to proactively keep all guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas well maintained for optimum guest readiness and presentation.
  • Develop and implement standard of service for housekeeping and custodial and ensure these are followed consistently
  • Manage budget with Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor & Custodian Lead
·      General Department Administration
  • Oversight of all aspects of administration for the maintenance team (Leading & training staff, creating procedures, manuals, budgets etc).
  • Accurately oversee schedule and assignment of employees and volunteers to ensure optimal productivity and positive moral
  • Ensure proper implementation and inspection of assigned tasks/jobs to ensure operational standards are met or exceeded
·      Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure MBC is compliant with all regulatory requirements (ESA, MOE, Town Building Dept, etc)
·      Additional Responsibilities
  • Work with MBC Leadership Team on site planning and major site development projects as needed
  • Share on call time with other maintenance team members
 
Hours of Work
·      Weekend and evening work will be required, mostly during the summer months of July and August. Additional shifts on Saturday and/or Sundays during the non-summer should also be expected.

Education/Experience
·      Secondary school diploma required
·      College diploma in facility management, leadership, etc. is an asset
·      10-15 years work experience, preferably in facility management/maintenance related fields
·      Leadership experience, planning and oversight of projects, teams, etc.
·      Proficient with various computer program and registration software

·      Mature in Conduct, Professional in communication, conduct and appearance, Problem Solver, Guest Focused
·      Quick on feet, quick responding and can handle crises.
·      Able to liaison effectively with guests and program participants
·      Maintain safe and clean facilities environment by developing, enforcing and complying with procedures, rules and regulations
·      Be a connected member of the MBC staff team, supporting all departments as team members, extending grace and responding with respect.
