Camp Staff

Role 

Teen Ranch programs run year-round. Our Camp Staff are crucial to our program and fill many roles. This position requires flexibility as you will be trained and scheduled to work in several areas. A general description of what each area looks like is outlined below. This is not an exhaustive list, but you will be expected to help in any area needed and work to get the job done. You will be scheduled to work 5 out of 7 days in the week, or approximately 40 hours. 

Kitchen

• Arrive before each meal at the time designated by the cook. This is typically 30 mins prior to each meal. Stay until the cooks gives the thumbs up. Usually a 2 to 2.5 hour shift for each meal.
• Typically 3 meals and 1 snack per day for up to 130 persons/ meal
• Setting and cleaning the dining room
• Food preparation, as needed
• Maintain proper hygiene and follow all safe food handling guidelines
• During summer camp: campers and staff
• During the school year: 
  • guest groups: guests and staff
  • no guest groups: weekday staff lunches

Housekeeping

• Wear proper PPE 
• Clean Teen Ranch facilities: bunk rooms, washrooms, hotel rooms, suites, and common areas 
• Refill supplies and let our housekeeping supervisor know if anything is running low

Maintenance

• grounds maintenance include grass cutting, raking, snow shoveling, clearing walkways, etc.
• facilities maintenance including taking out garbage, plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, painting, etc. 

Host/Program

• Host and run activities for booked groups, retreats, and day camps as needed
• Communicate the dietary needs of the group to the kitchen
• Be on call and prompt to answer groups requests
• Run program activities
• Maintain equipment for each activity. 
• Report damaged equipment to the Camp Director

Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate for this position

Teen Ranch onsite room rental is available to those who are interested/approved.
